On April 10th, 2019, the CONTACT training fair was held for the first time in Bad Windsheim’s spa and convention center KKC. The fair started at 8 a.m. when the first groups of students arrived with their teachers.
MEKRA Lang was represented by trainees who are pursuing future careers as administrative assistants, media designers, IT specialists, industrial mechanics, toolmakers, and process mechanics for plastics and rubber technologies. Mrs. Paal and one of the trainers, Mr. Hablowetz, accompanied the trainees. Mr. Lengeman represented our company as the contact person for anyone interested in an integrated degree program (Duales Studium).
To help the young students with their decisions on future careers, the trainees explained the ins and outs of their chosen apprenticeship programs and informed them of all the relevant details. Our image video, a camera system and a mirror served as practical examples for the students to get a better picture of what MEKRA Lang is all about. To illustrate the technical occupations, we brought workpieces that trainees had created as part of their final exams. Many of the attendees asked us about internships or integrated degree programs offered in the near future. In the afternoon parents had the opportunity to join the school groups and visit the fair. Many of them were interested in our booth and joined their kids in trying to find out which of the jobs or degree programs might be a good fit.
We hope that we were able to give the students a good overview of MEKRA Lang and the training programs and opportunities we offer, including internships and integrated degree programs. The day at the fair was a great experience for us and provided us with fond memories.
