Last Tuesday evening, November 7, MEKRA Lang in Ergersheim once again honored and "absolved" the completed apprentices, master craftsmen, technicians and bachelor students. As has been customary for generations in the company and centuries ago in the guild, a total of 14 of them were released from their apprenticeship with a light "slap" on the back of the head, a "Watschn". In addition to the implied "Schelle", the honorees also received a gold coin and a certificate. The finished masters received their master beer mug.
On this evening, the young specialists took center stage, because despite all the support from the trainers, master craftsmen and colleagues, "in the end, it was their own commitment and their own will that brought them here today," Susanne Lang emphasized in her speech to the graduates, "that's something to be proud of!"
A big thank you naturally went not only to the trainers and supervisors of the new journeymen, master craftsmen, technicians and bachelor students, but also to the two training managers Antonella Paal and Michael Lengemann. It was all of them together who encouraged and motivated the skilled workers and guided them to their final exams. MEKRA Lang is aware of its social responsibility as the largest employer in the district with its wide range of training and further education programs.
This evening in the new electronics building showed once again that commitment and motivation pay off. Because, as the ancient Greeks said: "The gods put sweat before success." Susanne Lang chose a fitting quote for this evening, as the path for the new journeymen, master craftsmen, technicians and bachelor students was not always easy. The commitment that the young specialists had to go back to school should be particularly emphasized. This is not a matter of course.
Susanne Lang rang in the evening's convivial part with the appeal "Remain able and willing to learn!". As always, the MEKRA band provided excellent accompaniment to the convivial evening.
