It is now 20 years since the electronics division was established at MEKRA Lang. During this time - after a steep learning curve, as Dr. Werner Lang likes to explain - in the small but fine department, the first TÜV-tested mirror replacement system approved for the road, the DVS (digital vision system), which is already widely used in road traffic today. This development was so outstanding that Dr. Werner Lang together with Prof. dr Uwe Baake from Daimler AG was awarded the renowned Ferdinand von Porsche Prize for innovative engineering. To celebrate this and other developments in the electronics department of the hidden champion, everyone came together on September 23, 2022 at the KKC.
Embedded in the Global Meeting, which takes place every two years after the IAA Transportation, the most important trade fair for the vision system manufacturer, 10 years of MEKRAtronics were celebrated in addition to the 20 years of electronics, another subsidiary of MEKRA Lang, which is based on the Aftermarket specializes.
With an entertaining supporting program, musically accompanied by the Big Band of the district music school and with a quiz based on the model of "Who knows something like that???" on interesting and curious facts from the 90-year history of Mekra Lang, moderated and linguistically pointed commented by Oliver Tissot, as well as many other highlights, around 200 employees and companions of the company came together to exchange ideas and celebrate.
We looked with gratitude at the previous generations and at the fact that, thanks to the right course set in the past, we can look positively to the future despite difficult economic conditions.
