Ice cream - great actresses with sparkling performance at the MEKRA Lang Culture Weeks for the benefit of artists.
The audience had a wonderfully relaxing and funny evening with "Ice Cream", a play by one of Croatia's most distinguished dramatists, which Silvia Ferstl and Katja Schumann congenially brought to the stage under the direction of Christian Mark.
Without changing scenery or costumes, the two actresses succeeded in sketching the mother-daughter relationship over a period of 60 years in a fitting and touching way. Important stages of life, from kindergarten to the first day of school and puberty to marriage, divorce and retirement home, are experienced and suffered through together with the audience, whereby the play also lives from the facial expressions of the actresses, which perfectly underline the challenges of the mother-daughter relationship and bring out every nuance.
In short: a brilliant performance with wit and esprit - a relaxing and really funny play, which provided for lively conversations after the play.
