SV Ergersheim can look back on an all-round successful sports weekend with the best soccer weather. On July 13, MEKRA Lang hosted the 2nd Heinrich Lang Memorial Tournament at the SVE sports grounds. A total of nine MEKRA teams competed in two groups to win the coveted title. After exciting matches and a nerve-wracking seven-meter shoot-out, the team from the electronics department came out on top in the final against the Lang Technics 1 team. As a reward, the winners received a trip to a home game of SpVgg Greuther Fürth, including meals and a bus ride. But all the other teams also went home with a prize and a certificate.
Parallel to the hard-fought games of the adults, a special highlight took place for the little footballers: Around 40 children took part in the SpVgg Greuther Fürth cloverleaf soccer camp and were able to train like the pros from 9 am to 4 pm.
The physical well-being of all participants and visitors was well catered for. With a selection of barbecued food, cakes, pies and various drinks, no wish was left unfulfilled. All proceeds from the day were donated to the sports club and will mainly go towards the youth department.
Some fans also found their way to the sports field to cheer on the teams and enjoy the great atmosphere.
Thanks to all the teams for a fair and exciting tournament. Above all, a big thank you to SV Ergersheim for allowing us to host our tournament again!
We are already looking forward to the next event together!
