Throughout his life, the senior boss of the MEKRA Lang Group had a special connection with his family, his company, especially with his employees, and with nature, as he was a hunting leaseholder in Ergersheim for more than five decades. When Heinrich Lang passed away last year in August, it was a special concern of the company to create a memorial for his employees and family that not only commemorates his life's work as an entrepreneur, but also the unique person he was in the hearts of many of his employees and family.
As part of this year's Global Meeting, the general managers of the MEKRA Lang Group, employees, hunting friends and his family have now planted a grove of oak trees on a forest plot belonging to the family. In a special arrangement, 14 oak trees now stand there, symbolizing not only the deceased's attachment to nature and the region, but also sustainable future-oriented entrepreneurship, a sense of family, and respect for every person in this world. The oak tree was chosen because it reflects the values of the company that Heinrich Lang upheld throughout his life and that continue to be lived and passed on by his successor generation. These are stability, trust, responsibility, courage and future orientation. Thus, the company's philosophy of thinking in terms of generations rather than quarterly figures is also reflected in this project, because it will only be future generations that will be able to enjoy the shade of the mature trees and the good climate balance. The children of the Frieda Lang House for Children also have their starting point for their forest day at this location and will look after this grove, thus preserving a special piece of forest in the Ergersheim nature reserve for themselves and future generations.
