The role of our logistics department is to ensure an optimal supply of raw materials and finished products both within the company and across companies. We handle our internal transport via what is known as a milk run. We supply assembly lines with materials according to a fixed routine. This allows us to minimize costs and better manage internal procurement. Assembly requests are processed via a KANBAN system, which ensures low inventory levels and rapid production.

The goal of lean logistics is to eliminate itself as a non-value-adding activity to the greatest extent possible and to organize an optimal flow of value-adding processes. To achieve these goals or continuously move closer to them, we have been using lean tools since 2006 and are constantly refining their application: 5S, FIFO, Heijunka, Kaizen, Kanban, Milk Run, and Supermarket.

To optimize our storage space, we use a fully automated high-bay warehouse with 6,600 storage locations for Euro pallets. With a throughput of 136 pallets per hour, the high-bay warehouse is the heart of our dynamic, fast, and efficient intralogistics system. By using additional shelf lifts, we make optimal use of the ceiling height and streamline workflows and material handling.

As a system supplier, we provide the necessary production volumes through various delivery systems, ensuring they are delivered on time and in accordance with customer requirements. From traditional batch delivery to just-in-time and just-in-sequence delivery, we guarantee a reliable and timely supply of materials to production lines, whether ex works or as a service provider on-site at the customer’s location. In addition, we use various standards for electronic data interchange (EDI standards).

Using systems and planning tools such as SAP and wayRTS from Wassermann AG, we continuously optimize production, inventory, and lead times. This ensures error-free and precisely timed deliveries. We support these processes with sophisticated contingency plans involving experienced teams and guarantee 100% delivery reliability.
