Purposes and Legal Basis of Data Processing

During the event, photos and videos will be taken for promotional purposes and for documentation.

The Corporate Communications department of MEKRA Lang GmbH & Co. KG intends to publish the photos and videos taken during the corporate event on the Group’s social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Xing), intranet, employee newsletter, MEKRA Lang publications (e.g., customer magazine or newsletter), and the corporate websites of the MEKRA Lang Group. This is based on the legitimate interests of MEKRA Lang GmbH & Co. KG in recording and publishing the materials for documentation and marketing purposes. (Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR / §§ 22, 23 KunstUrhG).

Legitimate Interest

MEKRA Lang GmbH & Co. KG’s legitimate interest in taking photos and videos is to document the event itself afterward and to report on it via the channels mentioned above. The focus is generally not on individuals, but rather on representing the event as a whole.

Recipients of the data and transfer to third countries

Within our company, we ensure that only those departments and individuals who require your data to fulfill the aforementioned purpose receive it. Personal data will not be disclosed to third parties beyond the cases mentioned above and will be used exclusively for the aforementioned purpose.

Please note that photos and videos published on the internet are accessible worldwide, and further use of these photos and videos by third parties cannot generally be ruled out.

Data retention period

The collected data (photos and videos) will generally be stored until the purpose of collection no longer applies. Deletion will also occur if you have objected to the processing and we cannot demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms as the data subject.

Your rights as a data subject

These are set forth in Articles 15–22 of the EU GDPR and include:
