Your personal data is either collected directly from you at the reception desk or pre-recorded in our management system by your contact person.

We may also collect personal data in the context of video surveillance in certain buildings.

For business customers / private customers:

• Contact information: Visitor’s name, company name, and address / 
• Private address
• Vehicle license plate number
• Contact person and relevant department at MEKRA Lang GmbH & Co. KG
• Review of ID card data
• Arrival and departure times

Purposes and legal basis of data processing

When your personal data is processed, we always comply with the EU GDPR, the new German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), and other relevant legal provisions.

Your data is recorded for the purpose of processing your visit to our premises. An entry will be made in our records in the visitor list and a visitor pass will be issued. For security reasons, your identity will be verified by reviewing and comparing your identification document before a visitor pass is issued.

Your ID card is reviewed for identity verification purposes, as we can only grant you access to our premises after your identity has been properly verified. ID card data will not be processed or stored for any purpose other than this review.

Your personal data will be processed solely under the conditions of Article 10 of the EU GDPR for the detection of criminal offenses.

Data retention period

We delete your personal data no later than two weeks after it is no longer necessary for the purposes specified above. 

Recipients of data / categories of recipients

Within our company, we ensure that your data is only shared with departments and individuals who require it to fulfill contractual and legal obligations. 

In some cases, service providers support our specialized departments in performing their duties. For example, we are supported by our service provider Wallenwein Administration & Development UG (Unkenweg 61, 70499 Stuttgart) regarding visitor management. 

Additionally, we are legally required to provide certain information to public authorities, such as tax authorities, law enforcement agencies, and customs authorities.

Transfer to a third country / Intention to transfer to a third country

Data will not be transferred to third countries (outside the European Union or the European Economic Area).

Data subjects’ rights

As a data subject, your rights are standardized under Articles 15–22 of the EU GDPR. These include:

• Right of access (EU GDPR Article 15)
• Right to rectification (EU GDPR Article 16)
• Right to erasure (Article 17 of the EU GDPR)
• Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 of the EU GDPR)
• Right to object to processing (Article 21 of the EU GDPR)

If we process your data to protect legitimate interests, you may object to this processing at any time for reasons arising from your particular situation. Thereafter, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Obligation to provide data

You are obligated to provide certain information for the processing of your visit 

to provide certain personal data. This is necessary to maintain security standards and comply with the resulting legal obligations. Legal obligations. Otherwise, you will not be permitted to be present at our business premises.

We do not use fully automated processing procedures to reach a decision
